                 NEW OFFICERS NAMED AT EQUUS
                              
                              
     ST. CHARLES, Md._ Equus Gaming Company L.P. (Nasdaq:

EQUUS), a publicly traded partnership with horse racing and

gaming interests in the Caribbean, today announced that it

has named Thomas B. Wilson, President and Chief Executive

Officer (CEO), and Juan Manuel Rivera its Executive Vice

President - Chief Operations Officer (COO).  Mr. Wilson was

previously President of El Comandante Operating Company

(ECOC), a nonstock corporation which operated El Comandante

race track until December 31, 1997, and has been replaced by

El Comandante Management Company (ECMC) in January 1998.  Mr.

Wilson replaces Donald G. Blakeman as President of Equus.

Mr. Blakeman, who retired from his executive positions in

December 31, 1997, will remain as a Director of Equus.

     These appointments are part of the previously announced

plan consolidating the ownership of El Comandante Race Track.

The new management structure appoints Juan Manuel Rivera as

President and CEO of ECMC and the operating companies in the

Dominican Republic and Panama.
