        EQUUS GAMING LISTED ON THE NASDAQ SMALLCAP MARKET
                                
                                
     SAN JUAN, P.R._ Equus Gaming Company L.P. (Nasdaq: EQUUS), a

publicly traded partnership with horse racing and gaming

interests in the Caribbean, today announced that a Nasdaq Listing

Qualifications Panel determined that the company does not meet

the maintenance criteria for listing on the Nasdaq National

Market.  Effective with the close of business August 7, 1998,

Equus will be listed on The Nasdaq SmallCap Market.

     Equus owns and operates El Comandante race track in Puerto

Rico and also operates through its foreign subsidiaries two

government-owned race tracks:  V Centenario in Dominican Republic

and Presidente Remon in Panama.
